How Strong?

Our student activities today included bridge building using a bag of everyday materials like plastic cups, straws, popsicle sticks, toothpicks, paper, string, and tape. We had 45 minutes to work with our teammates to make the strongest bridge using only these materials. I think this team had a little extra time and used it to decorate their bridge.

The 8 team's bridges were tested using stacks of books. The strongest one held three reams of paper, 300 small paper books, and almost 20 large books. We were starting to run out of weight to add to the pile. Good job to the engineers who constructed it! :)
