Pictish slab

Dave has purchased yet another bike so we went to Strathpeffer to collect it this morning. While we were there we popped into the craft and food fair.in the Pavilion. There were some great photos on display. We got some tasty looking bread and pies. I had a walk out the back of the pavilion. I like the way the fungi are growing on this Pictish slab carved from an old tree trunk. Little is known of Pictish culture. The carvings represent the symbols found on Pictish stones all over the Pictish kingdom.
The only description we have of the Picts is from the Roman invaders who thought they were barbarians.
