Shap top

At 1400 feet Shap summit was an iconic part of the journey up the A6. This plaque commemorates its former importance and the role of the local people in supporting those in trouble in winter.

Today was superbly 'bracing' up there. A brisk gale, scudding clouds, rays of sun. Invigorating after a day of gloomy rain.
