Feria de los Libros, Retiro Park, Madrid

After a typically Madrid breakfast of cafe con leche and churros, we headed to Retiro Park. People of all ages were out and about soaking up the April sunshine. Busboy (unused to this sunny weather) insisted on only wearing a t-shirt and sweater with his jeans. Bb and I were more cautious and kept our layers on and so by the afternoon we had our entire wardrobe hanging round our waists. Busboy was down to his t-shirt and wishing he'd worn shorts! We spent a lovely afternoon being entertained by skateboarders, uni-cyclists, roller-bladers, body throwers, bubble blowers, pipe players, rollerblade dancers and musicians from different parts of the world. We walked and walked and eventually stopped for a light lunch of little fried fish, Russian salad, olives and bread. More strolling and we enjoyed the beautiful Madrid architecture, the Royal Palace (from the outside), a drink stop at Plaza del Oriente and then back to the hotel for a break and to put on our blips. Right - that's us all blipped and so it must be time for dinner!
