Friends of Stanley Marsh

I had an interesting day today, the end of my holiday.
We had seen a sign advertising for volunteers to help out with the upkeep of Stanley Marsh. Since it's a place very near to us we like to go walking, and taking photographs of, it seemed like a good idea to go and give something back. So we turned up this morning and spent a few hours rebuilding one of the paths (my job) and picking up sacks and sacks full of litter (Amanda's job). It was a good bit of hard work, out in the fresh air (and rain) and we met some great people. This is Robin, who was on pick-axe duty with me. He's a sound fellow and we had a great chat whilst smashing up great piles of rubble and loading it into the back of the landrover. Later Amanda and I went and picked up our crazy pet rats from Kathryn, who was kind enough to look after them whilst we were away. We then stopped off at the fabulous Royale Chinese/Thai restaurant for our dinner and now it's chill out before we have to go back to work time. Have a good evening in blipland.
