My topsy-turvy life

I must be mad

With the Ironbridge half marathon tomorrow it seemed like a good idea this morning to go and do Shrewsbury Parkrun...

On one hand it was a good idea as I had a good run, finishing 6th in under 19 minutes.
On the other it may not be the best preparation for a half marathon 24 hours later.

Parkrun is a brilliant idea -free, timed, weekly 5km run around local parks- but it's only really made possible by the volunteers who act as marshalls, timers, organisers, and pacers to make sure everybody finishes safely.
This is two of the volunteers at the finish at Shrewsbury checking off people whose barcodes won't scan properly so that they can be included in the results.
