Particles & Waves

National Portrait Gallery, Washington, DC

So much to see and do and only one day to do it. This hidden gem is on the third (top floor) of the National Portrait Gallery in Washington, DC. This gorgeous Victorian-era architecture is the Lunder Conservation Center where artworks and frames are restored and conserved. The levels are packed with reference works so conservators and the public can see where problems exist and what can or cannot be done to repair damage. Fascinating stuff and such a beautiful place.

Linda (seated in the lower-right corner) and I are down in DC for a few days. I'm here to give a paper at the STGlobal Conference. Linda is tagging along to see the sights missed last summer (and see some sights again).

Really nice when viewed LARGE.
