Yamaha SR 250 Forks Reconditioned

The EBay acquired 1981 vintage forks are at long last ready to be installed on my motorcycle project.

The Yamaha motorcycle I’m rebuilding came equipped with bent forks from some unfortunate interaction with an immoveable object at some point in its previous existence.

These vintage replacement forks needed to be cleaned up and the fork oil replaced.

Usually an easy job, but in this case the forks disassembly was complicated by rust.

Long story short, a three week struggle came to a successful conclusion this afternoon.

When these fork tubes are be installed this old bike will be whole lot closer to coming back to life.
