show time...

...at the weekend and celebrating 116 years of the local rural and agricultural show.

Now a maze of rides, show bags and wallets emptying faster than the setting sun there is still the display and judging at the Agricultural Hall.

Amongst the categories are:
Roses (including full bloom, not necessarily showing stamens)
Formal Floral Art (Autumn foliage, berries allowed)
Informal Floral Art (Pretty and Petite)
Needlework (Crocheted table runner)
Cookery ( Cake, of any type, male exhibitor)
Preserves (Passionfruit butter)
and a heap of children's sections including decorated Milk Arrowroot biscuits, a family favourite in our house!

Love it and long may the tradition continue.

The image on the cover is of a 'log chop'. Scary to watch as the contestants wear white plimsoles for a good grip and wielding VERY sharp axes, whittle away lumps of wood at warp speed until they fall in half....without (hopefully) losing toes or even whole feet in the process.
It is a family tradition and there is a junior 'log chop' too, even more scary.)
