Northern Lights - a brilliant "show" at last!

This was our second holiday for trying to see the Aurora Borealis - last year in Norway it barely showed itself :-(

This time we were at Fort McMurray in northern Canada. It was slightly chilly (-34C!) for someone used to the temperate climes of northeast England but the sky was clear and there was no wind. On our third and last night we struck really lucky, the "show" went on for about 3 hours :-)

Working the camera was tricky with gloves/cold fingers and the lens instantly froze over when you took the camera indoors after a spell of photographing. But it was worth it. I had trouble choosing which photo to upload.

(Warning learned the hard way: don't touch a metal tripod with bare hands when it has been outdoors for a while at -34C! I just avoided a burn but it was not very pleasant for a few minutes.)
