The Lake Clinic, Cambodia

This mother lives in a floating home on the Tonle Sap Lake in Cambodia. She was having trouble breastfeeding and visited our local partner's Lake Clinic for help.

Here Savan (Head Nurse) holds the bottle she is using to feed her baby. We assumed it must contain some sort of chocolate milk. We were shocked when he told us it is regular formula, but just made up with dirty lake water. There is no sterilisation.

The Lake Clinic team are doing all they can to help the mother re-establish breastfeeding.

There is some lovely footage of Savan and the team in action, shot recently by a French film crew http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x1jq65g_medecines-d-ailleurs-episode-17-cambodge-la-clinique-tonle-sap-arte-hd_news?search_algo=2
