when life gives you lemons

Up early for some computer stuff, then into town for a trip to the bank and some shopping. Pierre made lunch when I got back and then we went for a walk down by the river. I even dipped my feet in the water for the first time this year! :)

Gorgeous homemade turkey, courgette, cumin, and spring onion burgers with lemony yoghurt dressing for tea followed by cardamon, saffron, and white wine poached pears for afters. We are good to ourselves :)

The pic is of the start of the preserved lemons process. You cut a deep line into the flesh and stuff each lemon (there are 6) with a tablespoonful of gros sel. They are then left in the sterilised jar for one week.
