bet there is a lot more work to make this ball of twine than we all appreciate, think it may be natural grown jute (vegetable fiber) which will be grown, cut, made into bales, distributed, then spun and more refinement processes and then wound with another twine to create the contrasting colours .... respect to the twine ....
