Hammer in Hand, Part 2

Thursday: Grandkids. Picked up Oskar and the girls from their schools today - Nik stayed at school for his play tonight. I like the photos of Oskar and was going to blip him but it was really Niklas’ day with his play -the second half of “A rip roarin’ musical railroad tale as tall as John Henry.” Here’ was first part. The kids, 4th and 5th graders, did a fantastic enthusiastic job belting out the songs at the top of their voices in this origiinal musical play written by their teacher. ( We ate pancakes early and we did take Fiona home on the way to the play - she also sang at the top of her little lungs “It’s a hard knock life” all the way home!) Maybe they are all Broadway bound? :-)
John Henry (Niklas in brown plaid shirt) dies “doing what he loves” swingin his hammer after beating the steam drill to the middle of the mountain.

"Will I let this steam drill put us back in a hole?
Now a man has a heartbeat, but no drill got a soul
Mighty trains carry people, and this train's on a roll
gotta show that there's heart here, and I'll smoke toward my goal."
