J S Henslow's moss samples from Cambridge

Shattered today, muddled through the day in a complete daze. Did have a tour of the new Herbarium though which was awesome. They have 1.1 million plant specimens! Only 14,000 of which have been entered into a database and including many that are still packed away in boxes that haven't been looked at since the 1800s.

Too many good pictures to choose from for this blip; instead of one of Darwin or Wallace's specimens I picked one of Henslow's. On this piece of card he was trying to display the variation in sizes of a moss found on the Gog Magog hills in Cambridge.
