Or as my mother would have corrected me "No, the flower and I".

I never really understood that. It's quite difficult understanding the Rules Of Grammar in another language when you've never understood them in your mother tongue.

I've looked up the meanings of words like "gerund" and "pluperfect" but I can't make them mean anything.

I think this fever has me totally beaten. I'm off to lie down.
