9th April Martyrs' Day

The 9th April is a public holiday every year to honour the people who died in the fight for independence from the French in 1956. In the background there are lots of red flags, many of them remaining from the recent celebration of Independence Day and at the end of this tree-lined avenue there's the famous clock tower.
This part of the avenue is still barricaded with barbed wire as it's opposite the Interior Ministry.

A young Tunisian musician is paying/playing his respects to the martyrs.
