Lonely yellow eyed penguins in Dunedin

Saturday morning and the weather in Dunedin has been rubbish all night.

We book a 16:15 tour at Penguin Place on the Otaga Peninsula, and then about 10:30 drive out to the Peninsula. 10 minutes in we decide to do a U-turn and explore North of Dunedin, returning to the peninsula for lunch and penguins.

We drive up a road through Port Chalmers (Karen happy - another container port - she is obsessed with containers on this holiday), and up to Aramoana. No idea why - just the way we went, when serendipity came into play and we saw this yellow eyed penguin, all alone, standing on the beach.
