Working Together

In the middle of the circle is a cashbox on top of a bucket. Working together as a group, our task was to lift the cash box off the bucket and get it across and outside the circle.

Rules:
- You can only use the equipment provided. This was in the bucket under the flip chart and turned out to be a clothes hanger, several lengths of cord, two clothes pegs, a rubber ring like a washer and a couple of metal hooks.
- No-one in the group can enter the circle.
- None of the equipment can touch the ground within the circle. If it does, you lose that piece of equipment and have to carry on without it.
- If the cash box touches the ground within the circle, it's game over - as an additional 'incentive', we were also threatened that it would mean going without supper.
- The task has to be completed within 30 minutes.

Did we succeed? Yes. How did we do it? That's a secret. Was it easy? Not very - we had to experiment before we hit on our solution. What did we learn? That the simplest solution is often the best, and that you don't need to use everything you're given.
