woodland grass

A morning of housework first, and then a meander around the Farmer's Market.
Everyone was jolly and there was a nice springtime atmosphere, with yummy cooking smells, and buskers.

Later I went for a walk in Rineen Woods. It was the first time there since the storms. It was sad to see how many trees were down, and in places new watercourses, now dry, had washed out the soil under trees, leaving roots hanging in mid-air.
But it's definitely spring now, noisy birdlife, and lush verges and sprays of woodland flowers, heartsease, stitchwort and celandine - and the first bluebells.
These grasses were my favourite though, nodding oh so delicately against the turquoise water.

This evening I sat for a long while in very warm sunshine. So nice.
