Lukesland Gardens

Lukesland, near Ivybridge in Devon is private garden which is open to the public twice per week in the Spring and similarly in the Autumn. Covering a total of 24 acres it is mightily impressive and is a haven for rhododendrons, camellias, azaleas and magnolias, plus specimen trees of differing types. Water cascading down from Dartmoor adds to the appeal of the place. The house was built in 1862, close to the site of the previous Tudor house which was demolished having been badly damaged by fire. Today was a glorious day to visit.
