Bill The Cat

Red light district

There were fewer horny animals in Edinburgh Zoo than I thought, however the Rhino fitted the bill nicely for the theme this week of HORNY. The red glow is from the heater above our pair here.

A chilly pen in Scotland doesn't really match up to life in Africa, but at least these two are not being hunted for their medicinal properties. Turns out that it's a common misconception that it is used as an aphrodisiac. It's more commonly used for fevers and convulsions. All tosh of course, leave them alone.

p.s. I know a Rhino horn is not quite the same as other horned animals as it lacks a bone core and is all keratin, but still counts in my view :-)
