On Lookout ...

It was a beautiful day with changing weather conditions. Grey skies interspersed with cloudy blue moments and a bright sun. Furthermore, there was a strong breeze, which was mainly rather difficult for the runners of the Rotterdam Marathon 2014, especially on the part of the trail around the Kralingse Plas (lake).

There was indeed fast running - the winner clocked a time of 2 hours 5 minutes sharp - but no track record was broken at all. A slight disappointment for the Organisation.

The Nile goose in the photo was not concerned with records for anything. The first concern was for the guard over four already well grown young. Note also the perky pose of the adult who's balancing on one leg during the lookout. I pictured her (I think it's the female) during a blue break in the grey sky with bright sunlight. But I could happily avoid bright and distracting shadows ... ;)
