Tadpoles

We went out for a nice walk round the local common this afternoon - it was a gorgeous day. Over the past 18 months, someone has built a new circular pond nearby and it's now full of water thanks to the rains earlier this year. I first noticed the plastic duck in the middle of the pond (there to encourage real ducks to land...) but in the shallows all the way round the edge could be seen masses of tadpoles (what is the collective noun for tadpoles...?). Some are much larger than others and hatched really early. And the bluebells are starting to bloom. A really lovely Spring afternoon.
