Capturing small moments..

Secret gardens

“As long as you have a garden you have a future and as long as you have a future you are alive.”

― Frances Hodgson Burnett

The Church of St Dunstan was originally built around 1100 and is a Grade I listed building; it was devastated by bombs in World War II, leaving the interior just an empty shell. Wren’s tower and steeple survived the bombing and in 1970 the City of London decided to turn the remains into a public garden.

What a little gem this place is, right in the middle of the City. Whilst sitting eating my wrap with Naomi, we both noted how secluded and quiet it felt as you are surrounded by ornamental vines, exotic plants, cobbled paths and bright flowers which make this place spectacular.

This is an extraordinary example of a small space in the City, which makes the maximum use of scarce resources and my new favourite spot for lunch in the sunshine! Thanks Naomi for being my model!
