Peak District National Park

Saturday dawned dark and gloomy, with a stiff breeze and a forecast high of 11. Still, we were determined to venture forth, and made it to Castleton in the middle of the Peak District. On the short walk up to Peak Cavern, looking up I saw a squawking horde of jackdaws swooping around the cliffs and thought this silhouette shot of the chasm leading to the cave entrance was emblematic of our day... huddled against a cold wind. Keeping a watchful eye on the brooding clouds. I don't think it got above about 9 all day.

Saw lots of new lambs in the fields, and the moors were very atmospheric, but better seen from inside the car than out!
