Would Andrew Carnegie read Manga??

The famous philanthropist gave this library to West Greenwich, I'm drawn to the gorgeous ceilings, but would he have liked this genre - is it really literature?
I was at my first meeting with a book group - delightful, spirited and very intellectual discussion. The book was The Dream of the Celt, by Mario Vargas Llosa, about Roger Casement, an Irish patriot who had also fought against exploitation of native peoples in the Congo and Peru in the rubber plantations. I enjoyed the company so will go again next month for more....
