Golden Bee

Bee, for the lack of a better name. I've been trying to get a decent image of one of these guys for a number of years now. I'm afraid, this is the best so far. This one seemed attracted to our new Coast Live oak in the backyard. They are very big in size. About the size of a quarter, approximately an inch to an inch and a half in diameter. They're all golden and very fury looking. They hover quite a bit, and flit around the greenery in the backyard. I've never seen them near any of the flowers. 5 stars for the first blipfoto friend that can identify it. Hymenoptera?

Bzzzzzzzzzz!
