Rapefield

The second day of staying at my Sister-in-law's and I was up at about half past six and out walking the footpaths around the village. I got lots of shots of the rapefields in the morning light, plus views across the valley - very rural, all sheep in the fields and the soft curve of contours and some really nice shots of yellowhammers.

Leisurly breakfast of bacon sandwiches when I returned, then we all set off for the Malvern Hills and spent the rest of the day walking at British Camp, which - if you have never been - is well worth a visit, with the most amazing vistas into Worcestershire, Herefordshire and Gloucestershire. There was a bit of kite flying and sitting admiring the views (and quite a lot of picture taking) and then we went down for a cup of tea at a nearby hotel.

We finished the day in Tewksbury, with fish and chips by the river. While we were sitting and eating this, a pair of peregrine falcons flew over the river meadows, with the male stooping at the female in a courtship display. Quite amazing to watch and they were in site for three or four minutes. Sadly, I'd left the camera in the car, so no shots, otherwise, that would probably have been my blip!

When we had finished the fish and chips, we chatted for a bit longer and then we headed back for the motorway to go home and the rest of the family went off their way and the visit was over. It was lovely to see them all again, but it was nice to get home again.

Still haven't heard from the doctor - if I haven't received the letter in the post tomorrow morning (Wednesday) I'll be on the phone again.
