Dumgoyne and Strathblane

I walked today with friend Tony from Blanefield along Strathblane to Glengoyne Distillery and then back via a stretch of the West Highland Way, which at this point is in its early stages if starting in the south. The path is well surfaced and follows for a short time the route of an old railway line.
Although we didn't climb it the walk is dominated by the conical peak of Dumgoyne which marks the western end of the Campsie Fells. This shot is from the railway line bit of the WHW. Quite a lot of wildlife around - deer, pheasant and a couple of buzzards. We also heard a cuckoo - a bit earlier than usual?
