Chiang Khong to Pak Beng

So we set off for the Chiang Khong border and took the shuttle bus across the Friendship Bridge to the Lao border entry where we met Phon our Lao local guide and boarded Tuk tuk's to our long boats.

After a few hours leisurely cruising down the river we were treated to a lunchtime feast of chicken and ginger, chicken curry, vegetable bhaji type snack, vegetables and rice.

A few hours later we arrived at PAKSIT village where we met some of the local people and their children and left behind donations of money and pens and pencils for the school.. this was one of my favourite shots of the day..

On to Pak Beng where we left the boat and made our way uphill to our hotel, a quick walk around the market before dinner and then back to our rooms, tomorrow we head further by boat.. a lovely relaxing way to travel!!
