Snow n'Roses

The snow has arrived! High heels have been left in the house in favour of furry boots (yes Bayrayleg this is the only time of year you'll see Parisians in less than 3 inch heels!) and the still striking train lines were even slower as they had to cope with snowflakes on the tracks.
Snow madness is making me want to do a whole series of corny clichés- Eiffel Tower in the snow, Montmartre in the snow, Notre Dame with snow on it....
Horticultural question: how unusual is it to have snow and roses at the same time? Shouldn't they have died weeks ago?
