Mostly Photos

Almost a keeper

Sometimes a shot just doesn't quite work out.

This photo looked great in my head (it was actually for an entry on DPChallenge this week 'Clocks and watches')

I rigged up flashes and timers, water filled balloons and cameras ready to take the shot. Pop the balloon, flashes fire and freeze the action.

In this case the flashes have not been fast enough to 'freeze' the movement of the watch as the supporting balloon bursts causing un-wanted blur

The Balloon was not large enough and had to be doubled up. In this shot half of the balloon has not fully burst.

Finally the capture is just too late.. the watch has moved too far from original position.

I might try and re-create this over the weekend (although worried that the watch will one time fall and miss the landing zone, hitting concrete instead!)

I need to alter the trigger time earlier. Reduce the power of the flashes to 1/128 power (This also reduces the duration of the flash, which will help freeze the motion)

Maybe I'll post a better shot in a day, week, month or even a years time... photography is a constant learning curve...
