Third Year Abroad

By LittleLots

On Sunday, Ákos and I thought we'd take advantage of the free museum entry during design week and headed to the Da Vinci museum of science and technology. As it turned out it wasn't free but we thought we may as well in go anyway. Now I can understand why it was more expensive than others, it's huge! I knew Da Vinci was involved in a lot of different fields, but this was a whole different spectrum. There was examples of his artwork, engineering models and musical instrument design, as well as paragraphs describing his influence in the fields of anatomy, cartography, botany, mathematics...I could go on. I mean the museum covered more than just Da Vinci's influence but it really showed just how much of modern technology and ideas stemmed from his work. And somehow amongst all this he managed to find time to paint some of the most important renaissance pieces. After wandering around for ages and finally not being able to take in any more, we headed for the exit. Or at least we thought it was the exit, but we were confronted by this massive submarine. Apparently there was a whole separate transport section. It would have genuinely taken days to see the whole museum properly!
