Today two water buffalo stampeded the main street of Newtown after deciding they weren't interested in being filmed for a Samsung advert at the local park.

Sadly, I missed all the drama, having resolutely ignored that inner voice that had been nagging me to phone in to work sick and take the day off.

The short version of events is: the buffalo made it through the entire suburb -no doubt startling the bejesus out of the latte-sippers ensconced in various hipster coffee shops on King Street- before eventually being cornered by the local fire department near Sydney University.

Next time my inner demon urges me to chuck a sickie, I'm going to listen.
