An unexpected turn of events

Luke's birthday party celebrations went off very well last night - it was a small party of quality rather than quantity! He and his friends loved the delicious three course dinner and then after dinner they went to a club in London which was great fun. The boys were all wonderful and behaved in an exemplary fashion. When they left Gavin and I tidied up (I was washing floors at 11pm at night but that was just me being fastidious) - the dishwasher worked overtime, but at least it was not me washing glasses all night. The boys got home at about 3am yet woke relatively early for breakfast of bacon rolls - they were the most wonderful company and no problem at all to host. All I had to do was tidying up and pack away mattresses and wash towels etc.

Adam has been complaining about a lower back pain around his coccyx for two days now, and as the boys do so much sport and gym they usually have an ache or pain somewhere, so I did not pay too much attention at first. However, he was in agony yesterday so this morning bright and early Gavin took him to the NHS walk in centre. After waiting for 3 hours they saw a doctor who diagnosed an abscess and referred him to a surgeon at a St Peters Hospital for immediate surgery. As I write this, poor Gavin and Adam have spent the whole day at the hospital, waiting to see the surgeon and now waiting for a bed to come up in theatre. Gavin has just phoned to say they are operating on Adam this evening but he will be able to come home later tonight - what an unexpected turn of events for Good Friday.

So on this busy day I only had time to take a photo of Thomas giving Murdoch a cuddle - Murdoch usually barks when strangers are in the house but he was so well behaved last night with all the guests.
