Cardiff Bay

We've had an excellent day! It began with a drive down the Vale of Neath from Merthyr to Swansea in glorious sunshine. The Sprint Event around Swansea University was fun although I made an error and Tony wasn't as fast as he had wanted to be. Nevertheless there was a great atmosphere and socialising, and I managed to blip several hundred orienteers doing their stuff. We then drove to a very busy Mumbles and walked along the seafront as far as the lighthouse which gave us fantastic views of Swansea Bay.

From there we drove down the coast to Cardiff and Tony showed me the bay and several of its interesting buildings including the Welsh National Opera, the Welsh Assembly building and the Harbourmasters Building. We ate at a great Italian restaurant, Signor Valentino, with a window table overlooking the Bay as the evening drew to a close. Lovely day!

I took this blip as we returned to the carpark and the carousel lit up the evening sky. I wasn't sure which one to upload. I also like the one of the Merchant Seamen Memorial to those killed in the last war, and I didn't see its face until Tony pointed it out!
