Drying off

Up to the beach early this morning for a relaxing few days. After lunch (and a provisioning trip) I went down to the Southend of Snells Beach after birds.

What a fabulous afternoon it was. When I had decided that I had sufficient photos to choose from, and was about to head back, I noticed a shag swimming just out from the rocks at the point. The juvenile Little Shag (Kawaupaka) emerged from the water, and immediately started to dry its wings in the strong wind. This photo was my second last, and best photograph of an enjoyable afternoon.

Worth looking at large. (Unchanged from what the camera delivered me).

36th species of bird photographed this year
