Queensferry Crossing

Today we explored the stretch of the John Muir Way that runs alongside the Forth between and Blackness and South Queensferry. It was a little over 6 miles and covered varied woodland, the grounds of Hopetoun House and the road from Society into the town. There were loads of photo opportunities but I had neither camera or phone with me. As we approached the new Forth Bridge we realised that the carriageway has now emerged from the shore and juts out towards the row of concrete pillars crossing the river. The first suspension tower is in place as well. So I borrowed Dougie's phone and took some quick snaps but this is well worth another visit with a proper camera and more time to get better compositions as there are so many interesting things to see with construction becoming a bit more visible. We finished the walk with lunch sitting looking across the water. A lovely end to an excellent walk.
