Traditions

Learnt something new today.

So we'd been out to a chinese restaurant in the town along the river from us (very good food, the dishes actually all tasted different and not as if they all shared the same base sauce) and were on our way home and I still had no blip...

Then we spotted a fire under the bridge, and another and another and another...

Curious, we thought. Pyromania or something else...

Thank the gods/chocolate teapot* for wikipedia, Easter fires - bonfires that are lit before, during or after Easter Sunday - although the teen did mutter (as they do, having forgotten how to enunciate) something along the lines of, "they do know he was crucified don't they?"

* probably the wrong time of year to mention my atheism?
