April in New York!

The sun is out, the shorts are back on, and it’s time for us to leave NYC! I must say that April is spectacular here for the gorgeous blooming trees (who needs Paris) These white trees were all over - I’m not exactly sure what they are (Cleveland Pear????) and I liked this view of them on 78th street along with the wonderful historic ”brownstone” buildings made from sandstone, that are so “New York” -(we have this stone in Seattle too....) We are going back to our hotel (from a 2nd visit to the Natural History Museum) to pick up our stuff for the trip to the airport and Seattle.

Spent an hour in a lineup of planes waiting to take off from Newark Airport as one runway was out of service. But in that hour of watching the sun go down, from our cramped space, out the window,, Nik learned a lot about my camera and it’s settings, working the 3 variables and having to up the ISO as it grew darker. So it wasn’t all a waste. :-) Plus the sunset was spectacular! (We have lots of photos, unfortunately not of Manhatten.)

Eventually will get a NYC flickr set up -with more buildings and blossoms!
