Glen Shiel Rowan

A familiar sight for those who travel to Skye by Kyle of Lochalsh and Glenelg - if they care to look away from the tarmac that leads them through the Glen. All will have passed this rock and the hardy though stunted Rowan that grows out of it but I suspect that most will have missed it and the hundreds of Red Deer that graze around it . The hills in the background are part of the South Cluanie Ridge and form one of the best walks in Scotland for those ambitious enough to tackle seven Munros in one go. Another target for Margie and Julia perhaps.
