Horizontal branches

Spent Easter Monday with the family at Erddig Hall in north Wales. Both kids fell asleep and so we crashed out on the picnic blanket below some trees. I looked up and saw this. A series of trees whose branches seemed to merge making a weird sort of natural fence. A strange effect!
