Blooming marvelous

Another gorgeous day here, and another Monday that I took off work - very well timed! I spent most of the day in the garden - either reading, or tidying up, or mowing some of our extensive grass.... At the end, A called me over to see this lovely bloom nesting in the grass - I had put tires around the bushes and trees to protect them from the winter's blast, and this was hidden away. I just planted this last summer, and it is such a delight to see this rampant splash of colour so early in the season. I am happy, tired, and feeling the sun on my face.... now for dinner and to open a bottle of red...!
