Amazones unarmed and laughing

It has been a grey Eastern Monday. We hoped for some sun lighting as we started again on our “small philosophers way”. “What is the theme for today?” she asked as we entered the almost hidden footpath into the nearby park. “Isn’t this a clear discriminatory insult against homosexuality?”, I replied pointing at chalked filth on the the pavement. Let me take a picture of it.” And so I did. The picture turned out unclear and that does not contribute, neither to Blip, nor to any conversation.

Then Willemien showed me a Dog’s Memory Place hidden in the bushes, where someone had lost her beloved dog in sudden death. Apparently what could have started as a reflective dialogue on “love” and “equality”, perhaps also “death and loss of the loved one” resulted in something quite different: confusion. And on top of that we could not find each other back there in those nearly impenetrable bushes…What kind of place we were caught up in?

It took a while before we saw each other again further on the small wood trail alongside the brook. And it took another timeout to find our way out of arguing about who had taken the wrong way...so then we could sit at the beautiful pond and relax. It was Eastern Monday after all. And of course neither in life nor in any park there are “wrong ways” to walk. That is true, but it feels less uncomfortable to find each other back and continue walking in peace and harmony.

From that “enjoyable” park wood, we crossed to the sea and walked South. where all of a sudden we stood in front of these two Amazones - in fact they were three - enjoying a seaside ride with their four legged comrades. These horses had fun in splashing through the undeep waters, digging and kicking with their hoofs. By the way, these Amazones were unarmed and broadly laughing instead of seriously training their martial skills. But what else can you expect on a grey Eastern Monday? No Penthesilea in command, no Trojan war to fight, no philosophical theme to discuss, but there was some fun in the air then and in the background a strange figure was slowly moving on, standing on a board, peddling. As if he could walk on water.
