Portencross Harbour

This morning I got up early and did some more tidying up in the garden and then cleaned some of our windows. After a late breakfast I took Margaret and her sister Helen on a drive down to Portencross and we went for a walk by the Castle and then along to the Harbour and past the old Pier. It was about 18 degrees today but there was a brisk wind.

As we were down by West Kilbride we decided to visit the so called Craft Town, but it was more like a Ghost Town. Nearly everything was shut. We took a detour over to Dalry and then came down the Haylie Brae and stopped at the Viewpoint and went for another walk overlooking Largs.

By this time we were all feeling hungry, so we made our way into a very busy Largs and headed for Nardines. When we got to Nardines there was a large queue outside the Ice Cream Parlour. The Restaurant was heaving but we managed to get a table. We all decided to have Haddock and Chips with Mushy Peas. Good choice as it was delicious.

We have had a great time and we have been so lucky to have such amazing weather throughout the Easter Holiday Weekend.
