Toward Green Heads

Lots more shots here.Cliffs on the western edge of Hoy. Last week I meant to go to Hoy but cancelled on seeing a dreich morning. Today I went in spite of heavy fog which hardly moved until I walked toward the cliffs, and then it parted to reveal a beautiful view of sea and cliff. I got dropped by the little community bus at the foot of the track to Heldale Water, then around the edge and to the clifftops. Then along the Burn of Hogliins and up to the top of The Berry. A couple of new species for the spring- house martin and willow warbler plus lots of great skua and wheatear, a pair of stonechat etc. 'Heldale' has some pretty creepy connotations in Norse mythology.
