MonoMonday: Transport

This is more than a helicopter. It is a mobile intensive care unit and one of four helicopters that transport critically ill patients to our shock-trauma center. The standard flight crew includes a pilot, a critical care nurse and a critical care paramedic. Additional crew may include a physician and respiratory therapist, if needed. Since this service began in the early 1980's, they have transported over 55,000 patients, including four of the 10 critically burned victims of the 2001 Pentagon attack.
