The Grove Bridge, No. 164, Grand Union Canal

Had a trip to the canal today down by Hunton Bridge roundabout. Haven't been here for years - we used to bring the children here to feed the birds. I had a very pleasant walk along the canal. Saw a heron sitting on a bush in the field but my lens wasn't long enough to get a close up shot. Got chatting to a man fishing who told me that the heron was quite tame and would often come and sit on the bank waiting for him to catch a fish - the heron would get the tiddlers.

The water was very still and made for some good reflections. There is a plaque on this bridge stating that it was "unveiled by the Hon. W H McAlpine, Chairman of the Railway Heritage Trust on 16th September 1987 to commemorate the restoration of the Grove Bridge in Watford".
