Lotsa fishing

Herrings are apparently running the Potomac at this time of the year, so we saw lots of fishermen lining the banks of Hains Point in Washington, DC. Some trolled huge nets along the banks; others set up a multitude of rods and sat back, soaking up the beautiful weather.

Just behind the fishermen was a profusion of pink cherry trees in full bloom, plump and fluffy and simply gorgeous. Had not expected that when mom and I set out for our walkabout: what a treat! :) I couldn't decide which picture to post, but figured everyone's seen plenty of blossoms at this point ;)
